What is happening to the owls of Joburg?

They are being cared for by school kids and release back into the wild.

We’ve had an awesome year so far of owl releases through schools as part of our Eco-club programme. Owlproject.org conducts educational programmes and owl releases within schools throughout Gauteng. Crawford Prep School, Radford House, Beaulleu College, King Edward VII, St Stithians, Heron Bridge College, Rivonia Primary School, Steyn City School and St Andrews School happened to be some of the schools which have participated in this year’s owl release programme. We receive calls from members of the public about owls in their ceilings, abandoned buildings, on sides of the road, the SPCAS and the Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital (JWVH). The work we do is pro-Bono and we plead you to help us to uplift our owl conservation efforts. To support us, please click HERE to see the different methods you can use to donate. The donations cover fuel when responding to the calls, building the enclosure, and food costs during the 21 day period that the owls are being cared for by the school children.

This project costs

R7500.00 per month and your valued support makes this possible.
